We offer several specialized courses as follows:
1. Adult Nursing –This is a required course for the 2-year bachelors program. The course is designed for using problem-based learning (PBL) and objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) teaching strategies to facilitate students to enhance their ability in critical thinking, problem solving and clinical reasoning, as well as to promote their collaborative learning and interpersonal relationship under the climate of small group setting.
2. Introduction of Evidence Based Nursing –This is an elective course designed for students in the second year of the 2-year bachelors program. The aim of the course is to introduce the basic concepts related to evidence-based nursing and its implications in nursing profession and clinical practice.
3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Nursing courses module–This module consists of seven courses (nine credits). These courses are intended to develop students’ knowledge and skills concerning traditional Chinese medicine in the nursing care. These professional elective courses only offer to students who are in the upper level of the associate degree program.
We can also offer different specialty courses, such as Evidence Based Nursing and the Certified Lactation Counselor course to meet students’ special learning goals and educational background. In addition, because the department of Nursing has strong ties with Tzu Chi General Hospital and its community resources, there are opportunities for students who wish to enhance their learning experiences in clinical or community settings.
